No this is not the song by Aerosmith. This is a tribute to Gene Autry. Because he is awesome.
We are back baby! Back home in Switzerland. I was going to title this "The Boys are Back in Town" by Thin Lizzy. Excellent song, but I am not a boy. To the ever loving appreciation of my heterosexual husband. Though I do have man hands, that does not count. Then I thought of "The Bitch is Back" by Elton John. An awesome song, but I try not to disparage myself. Others, no problem, me no. And the man hands thing does not count because it is true. I have to buy men's small gloves.
Well, we left Switzerland with three suitcases and a golf bag. We came back with seven suitcases and a box that contained the golf bag and whatever else I could not fit in the suitcases. Yes, the suitcases were empty when we left here. Hey, my boys grew three inches each since we moved! I needed clothes for them. And a few for me,who am I kidding. But I managed to get each suitcase about 3 pounds under the borderline. I am that good!
I also came back a tad bit grayer. My eldest turned 15. In the States that is the time to learn to drive your mom gray, I mean learn to drive. So off to class lessons he went and then to road experience with dear old mom. In my defense I was extremely patient for my temperament. Which is to say, I had some. Which is to say that is not a usual occurrence. That looks weird. I had to google "occurrence" to get the spelling. Huh, never knew there were two "c's" and two "r's". Whatever. But he did very well. I am an excellent teacher. No that is not a joke. Family, you can stop laughing. Yes, I am serious. I am a good teacher. I only grabbed the wheel about a half dozen, okay, maybe a dozen times. He did a very excellent job at it for about 15 hours total. Then we left. He will be going backwards and forwards in my drive here for the next year since he is not allowed to drive in Switzerland until 18.
One thing about Europe, in this part at least, it is very quiet in August. Everybody leaves. Most of Europe takes August off. Yes, I said August. It is also the hottest time of the year here, well half July and into August. We have kept busy to stay away from the heat. Holy cannoli it was hot here! And with no A/C, it made it worse. Like let me lie down right here and not move the the day because it is too hot to breathe type thing. So we headed off to London and Copenhagen for a week. Both will have their own post. Don't you worry! We are happy to be back, mainly because my hubby is here. School starts soon so my vacation will start. Whoo hoo! But I have to go back to school too. French lessons will not take themselves!
In the meantime, enjoy Gene.
